Information we collect

Depending on how you contact us and what your project involves, we collect your name, phone number, email address, suburb, project address, decking requirements, project photographs and other information you choose to provide. Correspondence, quote details and records relating to agreed work may also form part of your customer record.

You can make a general enquiry without identifying yourself, but we need enough contact and project information to respond, arrange a site visit, prepare an accurate quote or carry out work. Please avoid sending sensitive information, such as health information or identity documents, unless we specifically explain why it is needed.

How enquiries reach us

How we use your information

We use enquiry and customer information to respond to you, discuss decking options, prepare and follow up quotes, arrange site visits, plan and carry out agreed work, manage customer service and keep relevant business records. We may contact you by phone, SMS, email or the channel you used to enquire.

Submitting a project enquiry is a request for us to contact you about that enquiry. It is not, by itself, consent to an unrelated mailing list. Any other direct marketing must be consistent with the consent or permissions that apply and applicable law. You can ask us to stop marketing or quote follow-up messages by contacting us or replying to the message. Necessary messages about agreed work may still be sent.

Website data, Google Ads and cookies

The website uses the Google Ads Google tag, AW-18511963044. Google’s tag can process information such as your IP address, browser and device details, page visits, advertising click identifiers and cookie identifiers to measure advertising performance and link visits or actions to ads. Google may use cookies or similar technologies and, depending on its settings and your choices, use information for advertising personalisation.

Our “Request quote” conversion records a valid quote-form submission when the website attempts to open the messaging app. It measures that handoff, not proof that an SMS was sent, received or became a booking. Viewing the form or clicking the initial “Request a quote” link does not trigger this conversion. The conversion event code does not include the name, suburb or project text entered in the form.

Website hosting and delivery providers may process technical connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver, secure and maintain the website. Our current website code does not include a Meta Pixel, Meta Conversions API integration or a separate Google Analytics tag. Facebook and Instagram lead forms operate on Meta’s services and are distinct from website tracking.

The current website does not provide an on-page cookie-consent or preference banner, so Google’s tag may load when a page opens. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser and manage personalised advertising through Google My Ad Center and Meta ad preferences. Cookie controls may affect website or advertising features and may not prevent every type of data collection.

For provider details, see Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from partner sites and Meta’s Privacy Policy. We will update this policy if our website tracking practices change.

Sharing and overseas processing

Handling an enquiry involves the services you choose to use, including your messaging service, email service or Meta lead form, and our corresponding business communication services. Our website hosting and Google Ads providers also process website or advertising data as described above.

Project information may need to be shared with people involved in preparing a quote or performing agreed work, and with professional advisers or authorities where necessary or legally required. Disclosure should be limited to information relevant to that purpose.

Google, Meta, Microsoft (Outlook) and hosting or communication providers operate internationally. Depending on the service and account arrangements, personal information may be stored, accessed or processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other locations described in their privacy information. We cannot determine all processing locations from the website code. Contact us if you need more information about the services involved in your enquiry. Where Australian privacy law requires safeguards for overseas disclosures, those requirements apply.

Security and retention

We aim to take reasonable steps to protect information against misuse, loss, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Information may be held in business messages, email accounts, Meta lead tools and records used to manage your enquiry or project. Internet communications and electronic storage cannot be guaranteed completely secure.

Records are kept for as long as reasonably needed to manage enquiries, quotes and work, handle disputes and meet applicable business, tax and legal requirements. There is no single retention period for every type of record. Information should be securely deleted or de-identified when it is no longer required, subject to applicable retention obligations and provider backup processes. You can contact us about a particular record or request deletion; deletion may not be possible where retention is required or reasonably necessary.

Your choices, access and correction

You can contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, request access, correct inaccurate information, request deletion or withdraw permission for optional marketing. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing a record. If a request cannot be met, we will explain why, subject to lawful restrictions.

Your statutory rights depend on the laws that apply to the business and the information involved. The Australian Privacy Act 1988 applies to some small businesses but not all; this policy does not assert that every Australian Privacy Principle necessarily applies to us. We will handle requests and complaints in accordance with applicable law.

Privacy complaints

Please contact us using the details above and explain your concern so we can investigate and respond. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for information about complaint options. Whether the OAIC can investigate depends on its jurisdiction, including whether the Privacy Act covers the business or the particular activity.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services, technology or privacy obligations change. The current version and update date will be published on this page.
